Generating Resilient and Commercial Enterprises (GRACE) Project

A. Project Introduction: 

The Generating Resilient and Commercial Enterprises (GRACE) Project is a two-year and three-month initiative (April 2026-June 2028) designed to strengthen sustainable livelihoods and economic resilience in Dupcheshwor Rural Municipality, Nuwakot. Building on the foundations of the previous Harmony, Joy, and Dignity-II Projects, the GRACE Project will be implemented in Wards 3 (Rautbesi), 4 (Betini), 5 (Balkumari), and 6 (Samundratar), where communities largely depend on small-scale farming as well as productions with limited access to markets and enterprise opportunities.

The project’s goal is to improve sustainable livelihoods and economic resilience of rural communities in Dupcheshwor RM, Nuwakot by strengthening women-led agriculture cooperatives and farmer networks, enhancing enterprise productivity, and establishing sustainable market linkages.

Share and Care Nepal (SCN) has more than three decades of experience and successful evidence in community development. Based on this experience, the GRACE project will be implemented successfully in collaboration with women/farmer networks, cooperatives, the government, and local communities. This project will serve 2,782 individuals (528 male and 2,254 female) and directly and indirectly through the project intervention by June 2028.

B. Project Duration: 1 April 2026-30 June 2028

C. Project Location: Wards 3 (Rautbesi), 4 (Betini), 5 (Balkumari), and 6 (Samundratar) of Dupcheshwor RM in Nuwakot District, Nepal 

D. Project Goal/Impact: To improve sustainable livelihoods and economic resilience of rural communities in Dupcheshwor RM, Nuwakot, through strengthened cooperatives, commercialized enterprises, and enhanced market linkages.

E. Purposes/Outcomes:

  1. Build resilient and sustainable women-led cooperatives/institutions that provide governance, financial access, and collective entrepreneurship opportunities. 
  2. Enhance the productivity, innovation, climate resilience, and value addition of local enterprises through climate-adaptive, environmentally responsible, and disaster-risk-informed practices, thereby increasing their sustainable commercial viability.
  3. Establish competitive and sustainable market linkages with promotional platforms in partnership with the private sector and government organizations.
