The proposed project, Dignity for Life (DFL), is a new initiative designed for a four-year implementation period, commencing in July 2025. The project will be carried out in the Nuwakot District in Nepal.
The project aims to enhance the socio-economic well-being and uphold the dignity of life for poor and vulnerable communities. It seeks to achieve this through targeted interventions that promote human safety, access to justice, and equitable opportunities, thereby fostering a sustainable and inclusive society.
Throughout the project cycle, the project will directly serve 2,741 individuals from 697 households within the target communities. The project will focus on combating human trafficking and unsafe migration by advancing community awareness, empowerment, livelihood, and economic development, and the institutional strengthening of community groups and local institutions.

Objectives:
- Increase awareness among communities in the target areas about the risks of human trafficking and unsafe migration, along with improved access to counseling, psycho-social support, and referral services for returnees, survivors, and other affected individuals
- Empower communities to actively engage, advocate for, and exercise their rights to collectively prevent and mitigate human trafficking and unsafe migration while promoting safe and dignified futures.
- Create and enhance sustainable and diversified livelihood opportunities through skill development, access to resources, and income-generating activities, empowering individuals and communities to achieve economic resilience and improved quality of life.
- Empower and strengthen community-based groups and organizations to become functional, credible, and sustainable entities capable of driving transformative change and fostering the holistic development of communities.
