Prakash develops himself as a model farmer
Prakash Thapa is 27 years old resident of Kukhure village-8 Mahakali Village Development Committee. He has four family members including his parents, wife and son. The main occupation of his family is agriculture and livestock. Prakash stayed in city Kathmandu and works in marketing for few years. Later he is not satisfied with his job so decided to go back home and support family in agriculture.

Agriculture which is the main source of livelihood in Nepal has not provided the required quantity and quality of food for the target communities. This is due to poor or non-productive land combined with unimproved and traditional farming techniques, geographical difficulties, inadequate rainfall, poor irrigation facilities and lack of use of appropriate technology for agriculture.


Key Objective:

Improve food security of the community by enhancing agriculture productivity and empowering farmers.



  • Formation, Mobilization and enhancing knowledge of farmers group and network
  • Promoting production of seasonal and off-seasonal vegetable at community level
  • Animal husbandry
  • Encouraging horticulture development
  • Introduction of improved seeds and appropriate agriculture technology
  • Access to Irrigation system and canals
  • Establishing and promoting vegetable collection centres at village level
  • Facilitating marketing of agricultural produce
